June 2015 – Dominika Dovgialo
Hello Photoion students and photography fans, it’s time for another Student of the Month award. The Student of the Month series chooses one student each month that has shown really great progress and inspired us. The winner gets a £50 voucher to be redeemed against any of our courses.
This month, we sat down with Dominika, who attended the 2 day Beginner’s course, as well as the portrait workshop a few weeks ago and has already shown incredible progress. We asked her to give a few words about her work and process:
‘Photography is a way for me to express myself creatively without picking up a paint brush. I feel like my pictures don’t necessarily express reality as it is, but rather try to capture a subject in an unusual, often spooky, perspective – something that we can’t always see with our naked eye. I mostly enjoy taking pictures of people, but also of interesting settings. I don’t have any definite goals for my photography, I am simply a hobbyist – but I hope it will have a substantial place in my future career and everyday life! :)
I really appreciate all the positive feedback I have gotten throughout my experience with Photoion Photography School. It is really motivating and makes me feel like I can improve much more from the progress that I see after the courses. All this feedback is something very important and special that you guys provide for your students – and it really makes us believe in ourselves!’
