Hello, Photoion students and photography fans. It’s time for another photo of the moth competition.

Every month we run a competition with a different theme that gives you the opportunity to win £100 in Photoion course vouchers.

This month’s topic is Water.

This is a very large topic so get creative with it.

Here are some ideas to help you along:

  • Experiment with exposure: Using a longer exposure can allow you to create some really interesting and haunting images when capturing moving water.
  • Experiment with distance. The same body of water can give a totally different feeling depending on how close to it you get. Taking a picture of a glass of water on the table can be quite boring, but if you get in really close with a macro lens, it completely changes the tone of the image.

Make sure you don’t forget about light, composition and props as they will help convey a totally different story.

How to enter:

To enter the Photoion Photo of the Month competition, and be in with a chance at winning £100 in Photoion course vouchers, send us your best picture using the form below. Images should be in JPEG format, and no smaller than 1000 pixels on their wisest side. Only one entry per person is accepted.

Entry opens on Sunday 1st July2018 and closes Tuesday 23:59 31st July 2018.

The winning entry will be selected by a panel of Photoion Photography School judges. Judges decision is final.
