Greetings, Photoion students and photography fans. It’s time again for the Photo of the Month competition.

Each month we hold a competition with a different theme that gives you the opportunity to win £100 in Photoion course vouchers.

This month’s topic will be “Fill the Frame”.

Fill the frame photography is an excellent way to improve your images. But getting closer to your subject, and allowing them to occupy more of the frame, you focus more on them and draw the viewer’s eye exactly where you want it.

That doesn’t have to mean that you zoom on your subject until no part of the background can be seen though. Making use of heavy focus contrast or using solid colour backgrounds is a great way to fill in those smaller areas not occupied by your subject.

As always, it’s important to experiment to find something that works for you!

How to Enter

To enter the Photoion Photo of the Month competition, and be in with a chance at winning the £100 in Photoion course vouchers, send us your best picture using the form below. Images should be in JPEG format, and no smaller than 1000 pixels on their widest side. Only one entry per person is accepted.

Entry opens on Tuesday 1st January 2019 and closes Thursday 23:59 31st January 2019.

The winning entry will be selected by a panel of Photoion Photography School judges. The decision taken by our panel is final.
