Hello again Photoion students and photography fans. It’s time for another Photo of the Month competition.

Every month we hold a competition with a different theme that gives you the opportunity to win £100 in Photoion course vouchers.

This month’s topic will be “Family Photography”.

For many people, their main reason for taking up photography is so that they can capture those precious family moments with their camera and cherish that memory forever.

And should you decide to take up photography as a career, you can make a good stable income from photographing families to capture those memories for other people.

Here are a few tips to help you along.

  • Capture “Real” moments. Overly staged family photos can look forced and faked. So when thinking about your composition, try to think of ways for you to be able to capture something as genuine as possible.
  • Focus on what’s important. While using props and interesting backgrounds is fine, your focus should always be on the family – the people in the frame.

How to Enter

To enter the Photoion Photo of the Month competition, and be in with a chance at winning the £100 in Photoion course vouchers, send us your best picture to hello@photoion.co.uk stating “Photo of the Month: February 2019” in the subject line. Images should be in JPEG format, and no smaller than 1000 pixels on their widest side. Only one entry per person is accepted.

Entry opens on Friday 1st February 2019 and closes Thursday 23:59 28th February 2019.

The winning entry will be selected by a panel of Photoion Photography School judges. Judges decision is final. By entering you agree to our full terms and conditions.
